Coronavirus (COVID-19) Statement - July 2020

CORONRONVIRUS PANDEMIC RESTRICTIONS

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE DENTAL SURGERY IS OPEN FOR EMERGENCIES AND ONGOING DENTAL TREATMENTS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY BUT IS CURRENTLY CLOSED FOR ALL ROUTINE DENTAL APPOINTMENTS.

IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY PLEASE PHONE THE DENTAL SURGERY ON 01482 506004

During these unprecedented times all dental surgeries are unable to provide the normal care that patients are used to.  Our practice will remain open during normal working hours for triage to provide advice to patients, and to prioritise needs and arrange appointments accordingly.

If you are calling outside of normal hours and have an urgent dental problem, please consider if this could wait until the following day or over the weekend rather than accessing the out of hours services. Call the surgery on (01482) 506004 for assistance and information.

If calling out of hours and the problem is extremely severe please contact the out of hours service through NHS111.

If your dental problem includes uncontrolled bleeding and a swelling that is causing breathing problems this is an emergency and you should go to A&E.

What to Expect

Treatments

14 TREATMENT AK.png

All treatments ranging from emergencies and simple dental care and prevention through to advance restorations and cosmetic treatments.

All healthcare services are carried out to the highest level and we will endeavour to make your visit to our surgery as pleasant as possible.

Dentures

Whether you have worn dentures for some time or are about to wear them for the first time, you probably have many questions.

We have the benefit of a dedicated denture laboratory on site for the construction of dentures and adjustment/repair tasks.

15 crown.jpg

Crowns

Crowns are an ideal way to rebuild teeth which have been broken, or have been weakened by decay or a very large filling.

The crown fits right over the remaining part of the tooth, making it strong and giving it the shape and contour of a natural tooth.

Crowns are sometimes also known as ‘caps’.

16 Bridges.png

Bridges

Bridges are usually made of porcelain bonded to precious metal. Sometimes, there are other non-precious metals used in the base for strength. There are also new bridges made entirely of a special type of strong porcelain.

Bridges are only possible if you have enough strong teeth with good bone support. Your dentist will help you decide which is the best way of replacing missing teeth.

9 ENLIGHTEN LOGO.png

Tooth Whitening

Tooth whitening can be a very effective way of lightening the natural colour of your teeth without removing any of the tooth surface. It cannot make a complete colour change, but it may lighten the existing shade.

18 root canal treatment.png

Root Canal Treatment

Root canal treatment (also called endodontics) is needed when the blood or nerve supply of the tooth (known as the pulp) is infected through decay or injury.

19 veneer.png

Veneers

A veneer is a thin layer of porcelain made to fit over the front surface of a tooth, like a false fingernail fits over a nail.

Sometimes a natural colour ‘composite’ material is used instead of porcelain.
