Coronavirus (COVID-19) Statement - July 2020

CORONRONVIRUS PANDEMIC RESTRICTIONS

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE DENTAL SURGERY IS OPEN FOR EMERGENCIES AND ONGOING DENTAL TREATMENTS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY BUT IS CURRENTLY CLOSED FOR ALL ROUTINE DENTAL APPOINTMENTS.

IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY PLEASE PHONE THE DENTAL SURGERY ON 01482 506004

During these unprecedented times all dental surgeries are unable to provide the normal care that patients are used to.  Our practice will remain open during normal working hours for triage to provide advice to patients, and to prioritise needs and arrange appointments accordingly.

If you are calling outside of normal hours and have an urgent dental problem, please consider if this could wait until the following day or over the weekend rather than accessing the out of hours services. Call the surgery on (01482) 506004 for assistance and information.

If calling out of hours and the problem is extremely severe please contact the out of hours service through NHS111.

If your dental problem includes uncontrolled bleeding and a swelling that is causing breathing problems this is an emergency and you should go to A&E.

What to Expect

Older People

Your gums may recede (shrink back) as you get older, and your teeth may become a little more sensitive as a result. Your dentist or hygienist will be able to show you the best way to brush to keep any gum problems under control. They may also suggest a mouthwash to deal with the sensitivity.

You may find it harder to clean your teeth if you have problems moving your hands or arms, or if your eyesight is less than perfect. Again, you can get help and advice on the best aids to use. A magnifying mirror and a good light are often helpful.
